Coronavirus in Oregon: 1,211 new cases, 74 deaths - OregonLive

The Oregon Health Authority on Thursday announced 74 COVID-19 deaths and 1,211 new cases.

Thursday’s high death toll comes as state officials disclose info about roughly 550 deaths from earlier this year that were not initially reported because of a technical error.

The state released a new COVID-19 breakthrough report which found over 75% of the 8,239 coronavirus cases between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30 occurred in people who were unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated.

Where the new cases are by county: Benton (11), Clackamas (120), Clatsop (5), Columbia (22), Coos (26), Crook (12), Curry (3), Deschutes (100), Douglas (52), Grant (3), Hood River (5), Jackson (61), Jefferson (15), Josephine (26), Klamath (38), Lake (4), Lane (79), Lincoln (10), Linn (55), Malheur (7), Marion (124), Morrow (3), Multnomah (140), Polk (28), Sherman (3), Tillamook (18), Umatilla (27), Union (4), Wallowa (8), Wasco (15), Washington (107), Wheeler (2) and Yamhill (78).

Who died: The state did not immediately release death information.

Hospitalizations: 532 people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are hospitalized, up five from Wednesday. That includes 123 people in intensive care, up seven from Wednesday.

Vaccines: 695 people have been reported newly vaccinated since Wednesday.

Since it began: Oregon has reported 371,001 confirmed or presumed infections and 4,543 deaths, among the lowest per capita numbers in the nation. To date, the state has reported 5,598,340 vaccine doses administered, fully vaccinating 2,618,874 people and partially vaccinating 206,425 people.
