Coronavirus in Oregon: 1,420 cases, 14 deaths - OregonLive

Oregon health officials announced 1,420 coronavirus cases Friday and 14 deaths connected to COVID-19.

A new Oregon COVID-19 forecast indicates that while hospitalizations will continue to decline, that decline will be slower than it has been in the weeks since hospitalizations peaked last month.

Total beds filled with COVID-19 patients will fall to about 400 — from the current 513 now — by around Thanksgiving, according to the Oregon Health & Science University analysis. The projections, put together by OHSU’s Peter Graven, are based in part on data indicating some Oregonians have started gathering indoors again.

Where the new cases are by county: Baker (4), Benton (24), Clackamas (112), Clatsop (6), Columbia (23), Coos (20), Crook (18), Curry (1), Deschutes (109), Douglas (30), Harney (10), Hood River (6), Jackson (82), Jefferson (21), Josephine (33), Klamath (37), Lake (3), Lane (99), Lincoln (13), Linn (82), Malheur (25), Marion (178), Morrow (1), Multnomah (213), Polk (26), Sherman (4), Tillamook (10), Umatilla (29), Union (7), Wallowa (2), Wasco (14), Washington (140) and Yamhill (38).

Who died: Oregon’s 4,359th death connected to the coronavirus is an 89-year-old Jackson County woman who tested positive Sept. 8 and died Oct. 7 at Kingman Regional Medical Center, in Kingman, Arizona.

The 4,360th death is a 79-year-old Harney County man who tested positive Oct. 13 and died Oct. 27 at Harney District Hospital.

Oregon’s 4,361st death is a 70-year-old Douglas County man who tested positive Sept. 14 and died Oct. 23 at Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center.

The 4,362nd death is a 91-year-old Crook County man who tested positive Oct. 18 and died Oct. 26 at St. Charles Bend Hospital.

Oregon’s 4,363rd death is a 56-year-old Crook County woman who tested positive Oct. 16 and died Oct. 26 at St. Charles Bend Hospital.

The 4,364th death is a 90-year-old Crook County man who tested positive Oct. 6 and died Oct. 17 at St. Charles Bend Hospital.

Oregon’s 4,365th death is a 65-year-old Crook County man who tested positive Oct. 2 and died Oct. 21 at St. Charles Bend Hospital.

The 4,366th death is a 74-year-old Clackamas County man who tested positive Oct. 21 and died Oct. 24 at Adventist Health Portland.

Oregon’s 4,367th death is a 47-year-old Jackson County man who tested positive Oct. 18 and died Oct. 27 at Providence Medford Medical Center.

The 4,368th death is a 74-year-old Yamhill County man who tested positive Oct. 14 and died Oct. 28 at Willamette Valley Medical Center.

Oregon’s 4,369th death is a 53-year-old Tillamook County man who tested positive Oct. 27 and died Oct. 27 at Adventist Health Portland.

The 4,370th death is a 67-year-old Polk County woman who tested positive Oct. 6 and died Oct. 27 at Salem Hospital.

Oregon’s 4,371st death is a 67-year-old Polk County woman who tested positive Oct. 6 and died Oct. 27 at Salem Hospital.

The 4,372nd death is a 68-year-old Lincoln County man who tested positive Oct. 18 and died Oct. 17 at his residence.

Unless otherwise noted, all had underlying medical conditions or state officials were confirming whether they did.

Hospitalizations: 513 people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are hospitalized, down five from Thursday. That includes 133 people in intensive care, up 10 from Thursday.

Vaccines: 2,990 people have been reported newly vaccinated since Thursday.

Since it began: Oregon has reported 365,053 confirmed or presumed infections and 4,372 deaths, among the lowest per capita numbers in the nation. To date, the state has reported 5,499,691 vaccine doses administered, fully vaccinating 2,609,287 people and partially vaccinating 204,433 people.
