Fargo's Cass County reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday. Minot's Ward County and Bismarck's Burleigh County added 15 and 14 new cases, respectively.
Grand Forks County, Mandan's Morton County and Williston's Williams County each reported six new cases.
Adams, Barnes, Bowman, McHenry, Mountrail, Oliver, Pembina, Ramsey, Rolette, Stark and Stutsman counties all reported three or fewer new cases.
The new cases emerged from 4,060 tests for a daily positivity rate of 2.5%.
The department also reported two COVID-19-related deaths. The deaths moved the state's death toll from the virus to 1,428. Of those who've tested positive for COVID-19 in the state, 1.5% have died.
Active cases continued to dip, dropping to 844 Saturday. Active cases fell into triple-digits this past week, marking the first time active cases have hovered below 1,000 since late July.
Burleigh County led the state with 134 active cases Saturday, a slight increase from last week's figure.
Active cases in Cass County fell 37% over the past week, decreasing from 198 to 125.
Ward County and Grand Forks County totaled 85 and 78 active cases, respectively, Saturday. Williams County totaled 68 active cases, while Morton County had 54.
With 66 active cases per 10,000 residents, Eddy County again lead the state in per-capita active cases. Thirteen North Dakota counties had zero active cases Saturday.
Thirty-six North Dakotans are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has tallied 26,653,558 cases of the virus and 457,762 virus-related deaths. The CDC also reported 39 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered.
