Publix is reopening COVID-19 vaccine appointment enrollment after shipping disruptions last week delayed vaccine deliveries.
Snow storms and inclement weather across the country last week prevented Moderna vials from getting to Florida Publix stores, delaying the launch of new appointments. On Wednesday, Publix will open appointment signups on its online system at 273 stores across 20 counties, including Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties.
The number of appointments available at each store will vary, according to the Lakeland-based chain.
Publix says it plans to launch new appointment availability every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning for its Florida stores. Publix said that system will continue “as long as the company continues to receive vaccine doses from the state and federal governments.”
Appointment availability will vary by store.
To sign up for an appointment, go to publix.com/covidvaccine. Publix will only accept appointments made online.
