Jackson County reports more than 300 cases last week, Josephine County reports new Covid death - KDRV

MEDFORD, Ore-- According to the Oregon Health Authority, Jackson County experienced more than 300 new cases of coronavirus last week, something that the county hasn't experienced since early January. OHA is also reporting one new death in Josephine County.

OHA states that Oregon’s 2,485th death is a 95-year-old man from Josephine County who tested positive on April 21 and died on April 24 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.

According to data collected by the Oregon Health Authority, Jackson County reported more than 320 cases of the virus last week. OHA data also shows that the county reported multiple days of more than 45 cases, with even one day of more than 90 cases.

The last time Jackson County experienced more than 300 cases in a single week was back on the week of January 10, when the county reported 364 new cases of the virus.

On Sunday, the Oregon Health Authority reported 15 new cases of the virus in Jackson County and 10 new cases of Covid-19 in Josephine County.

With those 15 new cases, Jackson County has reported 10,245 cases of the virus, along with 129 deaths, while in Josephine County, the county's total increased to 3,151 cases and 65 deaths.
