MADISON, Wis. — The number of Wisconsinites who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has topped 2 million Thursday, according to the state Department of Health Services.
Nearly 3.3 million doses of vaccine have been administered throughout the state since shots first went into arms in December.
A total of 2,038,670 people have gotten their first dose of vaccine, which is 35% of the state’s population. Health officials said 1,276,478 have completed the vaccine series, or 21.9% of residents.
The seven-day average percent positive by test saw a minor increase to 3.8%, according to DHS data.
Wisconsin reported 1,046 new cases of the virus, a noticeable increase from Wednesday’s case count and well above the seven-day rolling average of 733. The daily case count has not exceeded 1,000 since Feb. 11.
The state has reached an all-time total of 582,843 confirmed cases, and more than 8,100 of those remain active.
The DHS launched a new COVID variant dashboard on its website Thursday. The updated page breaks down the presence of variants across the state. As of Thursday afternoon, 216 cases of the California variants have been identified in Wisconsin to date.
At least 6,667 have died of coronavirus complications, with 14 new deaths reported Thursday. An additional 77 have been hospitalized within the past 24 hours, which triples Wednesday’s hospitalization count.
